Bill Walton is an American TV sportscaster who used to play professional basketball. He was an important player on the UCLA Bruins college basketball team, which John Wooden coached. He won three national college player of the years in a row while at UCLA. He also led the team to the NCAA titles in 1972 and 1973, during which they won 88 straight games. Walton was picked with the first pick in the 1974 NBA draft. He won an NBA title with the Portland Trail Blazers in 1977 and was named the Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals that year. Later, in 1986, he won another NBA title with the Boston Celtics. In 1993, Walton was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He was also chosen for the NBA’s 50th and 75th anniversary teams. He got over his stutter and started a second job as a sportscaster after he retired.
